Common questions

Do NFC cards work on iPhone?

Yes. Every iPhone from the XR onwards reads NFC tags with no app and no setup. You hold the card near the top of the phone and a notification appears. Android phones with NFC work the same way. Every card also carries a matching QR code, so anyone with an older phone can scan it instead.

Can I change where an NFC card points after it is printed?

Yes, at any time, and as often as you like. A Perch card never stores your final web address. It stores a permanent link on our platform, and we forward each tap to whichever destination you have set at that moment. Changing the destination takes a few seconds and the printed card is untouched.

What can a card open?

A Google review page, a menu, an Instagram or TikTok profile, a WhatsApp chat, a booking page or any web address. You can also put several links on one card, in which case a tap opens a page where the visitor chooses which one to follow.

Do I need an app to use the card?

No. The person tapping the card needs nothing installed. It opens in their phone's browser. You only need an account to set up a card and change where it points.

Can I use an NFC tag I already own?

Yes. Any rewritable, unlocked NDEF tag works: a card, sticker, keyring or stand bought anywhere. Writing your own tags is free on the Perch free plan, up to its link limit. Cards bought from us are never counted against that limit.

Is there a monthly fee?

Not for cards bought from us. A card, stand or sticker bought from Perch activates free and stays free for the life of the card, and it never counts towards the link limit on your account. Change where it points as often as you like at no cost. If you would rather use tags you already own, the free plan covers three of those, and a paid plan lifts the limit.

How much do NFC review cards cost?

Cards start at £14.99 including your logo and colours, with a metal card at £39.99. Delivery is £3.95, or free over £50. We deliver within the United Kingdom only.

Is it against Google's rules to use a card to collect reviews?

No, provided you simply make it easy to leave a review. Google prohibits offering incentives for reviews, and prohibits review gating, which means filtering customers by how happy they are before showing them the review link. We provide no such filter, and using our cards to run one breaks both Google's rules and our terms.

What happens to my cards if I stop paying?

Your cards keep working. A lapsed plan reverts to the free plan's limits, so you may not be able to create new links until you are back within them, but every card already in circulation carries on resolving to its destination.
